Brothel of the Year List
Sonja Hoser Family Member « on: December 30, 2012, 06:14:31 PM » Posts: 6327 Gender: Female Point your erection in my direction. Love Ranch Vegas
I've gotten numerous messages & emails from several of you good people letting me know The Alien Cathouse is still not listed under the "Small Brothel of the Year" category for this next election cycle. Thank you so much for looking out for us! It means a lot. I have already messaged IB and he knows about it. He's assured me that we are definitely in the running aka eligible but the list hasn't been updated yet. So no worries. It's not an oversight - just a little farther down on the 'to-do' list.

I am not trying to stir up any controversy here, but I believe with all the recent brothel ownership changes across the state that now is a very good time to revisit the classification of various brothels in the "small" versus "large" categories. Perhaps the C#MC Awards committee should consider having a special meeting (or conference call/web chat) to discuss these issues at or during Winterfest.
It is my understanding that the two Nye County houses now owned by Dennis Hof - the Love Ranch South (f/k/a Mabel's/Cherry Patch I) in Crystal and the Alien Cathouse (formerly the Cherry Patch II) in Amargosa Valley - have always been classified as "large" brothels since they are considered to be part of the greater Las Vegas/Pahrump "market", in spite of the fact that neither has ever had large numbers of ladies in their respective lineups. Under the policies of prior ownership these houses rarely, if ever, merited nominations, so this hasn't really been a pressing issue. However, with all the recent improvements in management, upgrades to their physical facilities, and the quality of the ladies working at these establishments, the issue of their classification is now of much greater importance.
Should eligibility for the "small brothel of the year" (SBOY) award be determined by the size of the surrounding "market" or by the average number of ladies available in their lineups? And if by "market", where exactly are the boundaries of said located? Should the "brothel of the year" (BOY) award continue to be limited to only "large" houses, or should it (perhaps) become an "overall" recognition with all houses in the state eligible for consideration (with the SBOY being retained to prevent the large (market) brothels from dominating)?
As a long-time participant in the voting for these public C#MC Awards, I look forward to hearing the committee's clarifications and/or decisions on these matters. I hope (and suggest) that specific, written criteria be established regarding same and that they be placed on the C#MC Awards website for all interested parties to view.
I thank the committee for their time and efforts in administering these awards and their patience with regard to these specific issues I've raised.
Best regards, Speed Racer

However, there have always been differences of opinion about how to classify the houses based on size and location.
Dallas Diamonds, I have no knowledge that the LRS (aka Crystal Love Ranch) is licensed differently than the AC. I don't think I've ever seen more than 5 ladies listed in the lineup. When it was the CP1 it had more than 20 rooms and I personally have seen more than 20 ladies in a lineup there. However, since the renovation after the ownership change I have no idea how many rooms they have and the lineups have been small.

Great to hear it is being discussed. I just hope that whatever is decided, the eligibility/classification criteria is published on the awards website so all can see it. Please pass along my best to all on the committee!

Another problem with using your numbers is that not all counties limit the number of ladies by license. Donna's and Bella's in Wells usually have more than 10 working girls but I would have a hard time putting them in competition with the CR, SR, or Bunnyranch.

A "Small" brothel (by subjective definition) could be doing a really good job at customer satisfaction, and isn't that what it's really all about?
Why not avoid the sizing subjectivity altogether? Wouldn't it be a WHOLE lot easier if there was just a "Brothel of the Year" winner? Honorable mention and a token award could go to 2nd and 3rd place.
There would be no hard feelings for those smaller brothels that have really made their presence known, offered specials, kept their ladies and customers happy, and promoted their business with ethical and exciting methods.
Size may matter in in certain topics, but not on this one!
That's how I feel. Take it or leave it.
